| 0:52.0 | As human beings, we tend to treat people differently based on how we perceive |
| 0:58.1 | them and what preconceived notions fit into that perception. |

| 1:05.8 | let's say you went to a Harvard or a Brown University |
| 1:08.6 | or Cornell or something like that, |
| 1:10.6 | if you went to a good school you tend to be viewed a little bit differently |
| 1:16.2 | than someone who maybe went to community college. |
| 1:18.7 | Now that judgment might be wrong or right. |
| 1:21.7 | We don't actually know because we're not even really looking at the |
| 1:25.4 | individual and their ability to do whatever the task is. We just have a preconceived understanding of the types of people that are produced at a |
| 1:36.3 | Harvard or a Cornell versus the types of people that are produced at a community college. |
| 1:41.7 | And again, those perceptions are most likely incorrect. |
| 1:46.6 | It typically comes down to the individual. |
| 1:49.4 | But as a society, we need to create these shortcuts in order to make decisions quickly and be able to navigate all of the complex situations we find ourselves in on a day-to-day basis. But this can present problems at work or in |
