To get carried away with something.

To become carried away with something.

This is a great expression.

So once again, we usually say to get G-E-T carried C-A-R-R-I-E-D away.

What does it mean to get carried away?

It basically means to lose self-control, to become overexcited, to get crazy, to think irrationally, to exaggerate, to get carried away.

So sometimes girls and ladies when they see a baby puppy or even a baby, a baby girl, a baby boy,

when they see the puppy or the baby, they go, oh my God,

oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, I really want one. Oh, can I touch it? Can I touch it?

That's getting carried away. But guys and boys can get carried away too when it comes to sports.
