experts audio. Our topic today is children and our expert guests I'm extremely

pleased to say is Dr Thomas Brown of Yale University.

Dr Brown will be talking about diagnosing children, how the symptoms differ from child,

how do you distinguish between a variety of symptoms that may suggest other conditions such as anxiety, depression, learning disabilities?

And then he'll also address the topic that many of you have asked about, what are the best practices in treatment?

When do you decide to go ahead with medication?

Many of you would prefer not to do that.

I think many parents agree.

And he'll address some of your questions about alternative

therapies from fish oil to cognitive behavior and so forth.

Dr Brown is assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine.

He's the Associate Director of the Yale Clinic for Attention and Related Disorders and the author

of a number of truly helpful books.

I can't stress enough how clear and helpful his books are both

about what ADHD is and case studies about people who live with it and how especially young adults and how they've been treated.

I'm very happy to be back. The first thing that I'd like to talk about is the fact that there

are a lot of differences among people with ADHD. You know, the obvious differences of age and gender and it's true that ADHD certainly looks a lot
