A Malibu dad who'd killed his wife and her young child out of greed?

It sure looked that way to Stan Rodin, the Santa Barbara District Attorney.

This is Demsey Billy, a DA's investigator who worked on the case.

I think we had five or six or seven criminal investigators and then about probably about 12 deputy district attorneys.

And so the round table to see if the district attorney's on should file that case.

When the facts of Fred's case were presented, there were crickets.

Nobody really wanted the case. They didn't think of it as enough evidence there to accuse Fred Rayler.

And then Stan Rodin felt very strongly about it and took it and ran with it.
