Hello everybody, welcome back to how come holy shit the world is fucked. This

episode is mostly about racism and the rise of violence against the Asian

community and the wake of Atlanta's recent tragedy. But since we've recorded

this episode, there's also the tragedy that occurred in Boulder. 10 people have

died from that, which is devastating. Our hearts are going out to everybody in

both of these situations, all the families. And yeah, this is fucking fucked. This

isn't an anti-gun episode, but this was done with an AR-15 style assault rifle.

I don't know how they're still legal, but interestingly, last Tuesday the NRA

sent out a celebratory tweet as a judge overturned Boulder's AR-15 ban. Yes, the

same Boulder where the shooting took place. And they posted on the day that the

shooting took place a well-regulated militia being necessary to the

security of a free state, the red of the people to keep and bear arms shall not

be infringed. Are you fucking kidding? Like, there is a difference between...

We're gonna have to do a gun episode, but there's a difference between being

able to own a gun and anybody being able to get an AR-15. Also, it's easier to

do that in states where they're making a registering to vote in the same day

and voting impossible. So that you can go get a gun the same day, but you can't

vote. Like, something's fucked. And by something, I mean like a lot of things

are fucked, but yeah, Jamalai Hill tweeted 253 bills across 43 states have

been introduced to restrict voting access, despite little evidence of voter fraud.
