We are taping this on Tuesday morning, and we're going to get into some news that stew was out in front of with a story

he reported uh late monday afternoon uh i'm going to read your your tweets to put it in context

national LGBT groups are urging the big 12 to drop BYU from consideration over alleged discrimination.

You know what? This is definitely a hot button topic. As we've talked about in weeks past,

the conference expansion story at Big 12 hits on a lot of different schools and draws a lot of

eyeballs. I think this was a story that was a curveball in it completely.

I'm curious.

So how long had you been working on this?

I had started to catch wind of it a couple weeks ago that something might be in the works.

And then it was a matter of, you know, continuing

to follow up and see if anything was actually going to come of it.

You know, it's interesting because nothing that was revealed in either my story or certainly

in the letter that was at the center of this, the letter that two groups, athletes, ally

and National Center for Lesbian Rights, co-authored.

Nothing in it is not already public knowledge.

BYU's Honor Code, which is kind of at the center of this, not kind of, is at the center of this,

is published right on its website.

But, you know, as I started to get into this and I would look back, it actually was,

you know, I couldn't believe that this hadn't come up before in terms of, like you said,

all of the endless coverage of Big 12 realignment. You know, we've been speculating for months
