Dimely Silesera, a long party lines the House voting to authorize an impeachment inquiry

into President Biden. The vote 221 to 212. The House could have been on

firmer legal ground enforcing its subpoena for Hunter Biden

to appear for a deposition today.

Had the impeachment inquiry already been in place,

instead Hunter Biden skipped out.

Fox is Chad Pergram on Capitol Hill. President Biden in a statement said in part

Republicans are focused on attacking me with lies and saying the American people deserve better.

Hunter Biden instead spoke to reporters outside the Capitol.

There's no evidence to support the allegations that my father was financially involved in

my business because it did not happen.

And Hunter Biden said Republicans belittled his recovery from addiction and tried to

dehumanize him in an effort to embarrass his father.

Former President Trump's 2020 election interference case is on hold for now.

Judge Tanya Chutkin paused any further proceedings that would move the case towards trial as an appeals court considers arguments

from Trump's legal team that he should get immunity. If the case returns to

Chuckin's court soon, former President Trump could go on trial March 4th.

Special Counsel Jack Smith is trying to bypass the appeals court and has asked the Supreme

Court to take up the case hoping to keep that trial date in place.

The former president's accused of illegally scheming to overturn his election loss to

Joe Biden.
