West Virginia patrolling streets of D.C. shot in broad daylight just blocks from the White House. Fox's

Mark Meredith has more. We heard from the FBI Director Cash Patel, who said this was a targeted attack

been underway from several months. We have seen guards members come from all over the country

at their governor's orders to deploy these resources, and officials are calling this a targeted

attack. We heard from D.C. Mayor Mayor Muriel Bowser who said this was horrific,

that they're deploying all the resources that she has at her disposal. But what was also very

clear about this is that this person appeared to have acted alone, that this wasn't a multiple

group attack, but instead one person who was taken into custody, but also was shot. No indication

yet what the weapon was that was being used in this attack.

After he and the second lady served food to the troops at Fort Campbell, Vice President Vance

addressed the crowd, he didn't mention the recent video of six lawmakers telling troops to refuse

illegal orders, but did say, we don't just want people who mindlessly follow orders. We want people who think.

The vice president said one of the great stains on the country is that both parties have sent

the military in to fight and die without a clear plan or mission at times.
