This is a Fox News Alert, a deadly shooting on a college campus,

Simley, Silicera. It happened this afternoon at the University of North

Carolina Chapel Hill. I'm grieved to report

that one of our faculty members was killed in this

shooting. This loss is devastating and the shooting damage is the trust

and safety that we so often take for granted in our campus community.

Chancellor Kevin Goscow, it's the suspect who authorities have not yet

named his own custody and formal charges have not yet been filed.

The motive for the shooting is not yet known. Today it was the first day of

classes. 46 counties in Florida under a state of emergency is tropical storm

in Dalia approaches. It's expected to become a major hurricane by Wednesday.

Governor Ron DeSantis says the biggest threat is storm surge,

which could be from eight to 12 feet. This is life-threatening storm surge.

If you're in coastal low-lying areas from Tampa up through big bend,

you need to be ready to evacuate to an inland area.

Evacuation orders for many of these areas have already been issued.

More may be coming throughout the balance of tonight.

Many school districts along the Gulf Coast will be closed tomorrow and Wednesday.

And several colleges have announced they would close campuses,

including the University of Florida in Gainesville.
