Trump and Netanyahu speak. I'm Deborah Valentine, Fox News. President Donald Trump spoke with Israel's leader as the Israeli government weighs a takeover of Gaza City. Fox's tray inx in Tel Aviv has more.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Trump spoke over the phone. The Prime Minister's office says they talked about the hostages and the ongoing war and that the

prime minister thanked President Trump for his support throughout this conflict.

The hostages are believed to be held in the center of the strip in a city called Der Al-Bala.

This is where many people are sheltering.

It's been largely untouched by the Israeli military on the ground.

And that is because they are concerned about the 20 living hostages and the bodies of 30 others that are still being held by Hamas.

We have heard from these families.

They are concerned that if this military operation moves forward, their loved ones could be killed or injured.

The IDF's chief of staff reportedly expressed disagreement over the plan.

President Trump expected to meet in person with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska

to discuss a possible peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. Fox's Lucas Tomlinson reports from the White House.

Vice President J.D. Vance, he says that both sides are likely not going to get what they want in this deal, should it happen.

We're going to try to find some negotiated settlement that the Ukrainians and the Russians can live with, where they can live in relative peace, where the killing stops.

Ahead of the summit in Alaska, Friday, Russia continues launching drones into Ukraine with the help from China and Iran.

Ukraine has been open to Trump-led ceasefire for months, but Putin continues to refuse.

Russia wants more territory in eastern Ukraine's Donbos region where most of Ukraine's minerals are

located, and it's not clear what any potential deal with Russia would impact with Trump's

mineral rights deal with

Ukraine. This will be the first in-person meeting between the leaders of the U.S. and Russia since

Moscow ordered the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. America's listening to Fox News.
