A federal investigation. I'm Lisa LaSara, Fox News. Attorney General Pam Bondi is set to have a federal grand jury look into allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election.

While a DOJ spokesperson declined to comment on this report of an investigation, Fox is told Attorney General Bondi is taking the

referrals from Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, quote, very seriously.

The spokesperson says that Bondi believes there is, quote, clear cause for deep concern, end quote,

and a need for the next step. There are no charges that have been filed,

no indictments. This is incredibly early in the process. What we have here is taking evidence

the Justice Department believes it has to a grand jury to secure an eventual indictment or indictment.

Fox is David Spund. The Texas House has approved issuing arrest warrants for dozens of lawmakers who fled the state

in protest over a vote to redraw congressional districts that would create five more

Republican-leaning congressional seats before the 2026 midterms.

California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom says he will call a special election for the first week of November, where voters would consider a new congressional map, but he said he would not move ahead if Texas pauses its efforts.

Sean Diddy Combs has lost his bid to be released from jail ahead of his October 3rd sentencing.

His lawyers arguing that defendants in similar prostitution-related cases

were often released before sentencing. Prosecutors countered that he remained a danger to the

community, pointing to evidence of violence presented a trial. In his ruling, the judge wrote that

Combs' argument might have traction in a case that didn't involve evidence of violence, coercion, or subjugation.

But the record here contains evidence of all three.
