Texas State House Democrats fled to Chicago, New York, and Boston over the effort by Republicans to redraw the congressional map.

data comes out at the turn of each decade. Democrats say the new map is racist. But Governor Greg

Abbott tells Fox News it's based on politics. For example, two of the seats that would be impacted

have Democratic representatives, but were won by President Trump last year. We have the authority

legally under redistricting law to draw districts that align with the voter

preferences of the voters of the state of Texas.

Abbott said Democrats who fled could forfeit their offices for denying Republicans a needed

quorum to vote.
