President Biden spoke earlier today at the American Cemetery, drawing a direct line from the fight to liberate Europe

and the Nazis to Ukraine's battle with Russia.

President Biden recognized the Americans who laid down their lives on D day to stop the

tyranny of fascism moving across Europe.

And he called on Allied democracies to rise to that moment again with a modern day dictator.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also threatening to march across Europe.

Democracy is never guaranteed.

Defend it and fight for it.

Biden defended his recent decision to allow Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia with

U.S. weapons, something that Putin suggested amounts to direct participation in the war,

before again making a veiled nuclear threat.
