Waltz as national security advisor and nomination as U.N. ambassador is a better role for him in the

administration as it moves forward. He tells Fox's Brett Baer. We brought Mike on to do some serious

reforms of the National Security Council.

He has done that.

I like Mike.

I think he's a great guy.

He's got the trust of both me and the president.

But we also thought that he'd make a better U.N. ambassador as we get beyond this stage of the reforms that we've made to the National Security Council.

It was announced this morning that Waltz was leaving his post.

A few hours later, the president nominated him for the UN Ambassador Post.

The Trump administration has gone to the Supreme Court calling for an end to temporary

legal protections for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans.

A federal judge issued a ruling that kept temporary protected status for the Venezuelans

that would have otherwise expired last month.

TPS is granted in 18-month increments to people already in the U.S., whose countries are deemed unsafe for

return due to natural disaster or civil strife.

But the Trump administration's asking the Supreme Court for emergency

action to block that judge's order. That could potentially expose 350,000 Venezuelans to deportation.

A briefing schedule will likely be set and then an order may be issued by the high court.

Separately, a federal judge has borne the barred the Trump administration from deporting any Venezuelans from South Texas using an 18th century wartime law.
