I'm Pam Housau, Fox News, a suspected Chinese spy balloon now floating over the middle

of the country could end up over the Carolinas.

U.S. defense officials say they took measures that are classified to protect sensitive information

at the sites that the Chinese spy balloon may be passing over.

They took these measures as soon as the balloon was detected.

If the U.S. military shot down the balloon, the debris field we're told could be at least

400 square miles.

The incident has heightened tensions between Washington and Beijing.

In light of China's unacceptable action, I am postponing my plan travel this weekend to
