If you want to trademark your product name or your design, how do you go about doing it?

In fact, should you do it in the first place?

Is it worth it?

Should you do it yourself?

Should you hire professional?

And so on.

Well, I hear these kinds of questions a lot.

And first of all, I'm not a lawyer, so I don't give actual legal advice.

I only talk about my experience and the experience of our community.

The bottom line is, not just because of that disclaimer, but just in reality, it's complicated.

The trademark process takes a lot of time and is also not cheap.

So if you are deterred for either of those reasons, which is totally understandable, at least

for lots of people and lots of products, you might want to just not worry about it.

There's some other ways you can protect yourself and in the end, people who want to steal

are going to steal anyway.

But of course, as we have seen in some episodes, it can be worth it for the right product,

the right person, etc.

So we're going to talk about that today in the context of a story called hand lettering
