I just had a super interesting interview with a newish friend who I met at the

Networker Conference where we both were presenting this past year in D.C.

And her name is Daphne Linder, and she is a family therapy expert, but she's an attachment specialist.

So we had this really deep conversation about attachment issues, but also about parenting,

about co-regulation, about her life history moving to the U.S. when she was six, not speaking their language,

and basically how, you know, we teach so much of the time we teach what you most need to learn.

But I have so much respect for, she's been doing this for 30 years, so much respect for the work that she's done,

just in the foster care system in Chicago, going into family

homes, dealing with really the most difficult sort of interventions. And now she does a different

kind of therapy, it's called, and didactic developmental psychotherapy, which is called DDP, as well as she's an EMDR

therapist as well. So we talked about all the things, difficult teenagers. What can you do as a parent

if you feel like all you do is fail or you don't know if you're making the right decisions?

advice at normalizing how challenging, acknowledging how challenging parenting is right now,
