Being able to pinpoint exactly where a gobbling turkey is is half the battle in a successful hunt.

0:06.0

My favorite tool for pinpointing goblers is the compass mode feature on on X hunt.

0:11.0

When you enter compass mode on your app, the map orients to whatever direction you're facing,

0:15.0

and a line is drawn on the map with different distances marked.

So for instance, I'll be out hunting some hill country

0:21.4

and I'll have a bird goblin. So I'll turn on compass mode. I'll face the bird and I'll look at my phone and it's got those different yardages marked. And basically I can say, okay, that bird is probably about 250 yards away. I can look at my map and say, oh yeah, look, there's a ridge point directly where I'm facing about 250 yards.

He's probably right there on the end of that ridge point.

Or, oh, there's a ridge point directly where I'm facing, about 250 yards. He's probably right there on the end of that ridge point. Or, oh, there's a food

plot, about 250 yards out. He's probably in that food plot. So it's made a big difference for me,

and again, pinpointing birds. I know it'll probably help you out too. So check it out

out as well know where you stand with on x hunt y'all've heard us talk about them for years but one of

our favorite turkey gun upgrades is a red dot site and one of the best red dot sites when it comes to

1:10.4

turkey hunting is the viper enclosed red dot from vortex And one of the best red dot sites when it comes to turkey hunting is the viper

1:11.6

enclosed red dot from vortex optics. Now the reason that a red dot is so nice for turkey hunting

1:17.1

is because it opens up your site picture. It allows you to actually see what you're aiming at

1:21.0

and you're not covering up the turkey with your site, which is especially helpful with modern

1:25.4

ammo like TSS where you're shooting a pretty tight pattern.

1:28.3

One reason that the Viper enclosed red dot is so nice is because it has that enclosed design,

1:33.3

so it's very, very durable, resistant to the elements, and it has a universal mount built right into the site.

1:39.3

So it's just four screws, screw it down onto your shotgun, boom, you're good to go.
