Welcome to the 78th episode of the Simple Sophisticate and to January 10th, 2016.

In international news on Wednesday morning South Korea

reported a detection of seismic activity measuring a 4.8 earthquake provoked by

what North Korea claims to have been a successful test in the upper

Northeastern region of the country, unilaterally condemned by the

international community, including China, critics and experts looking at

additional reports of the blast have revealed that

North Korea's claims are most likely unfounded. However, since they may have

detonated an atomic bomb, this news reveals, that they continue to make nuclear advancements.

Earlier this week, 30 men were arrested in Germany after being suspected of being part of the

New Year's Eve sexual assaults that took place on women in the city of Cologne.
