Bamboo Buddies Excerpt:
One sunny morning, a cheerful white truck rumbled along the winding path that led to the Ahway Island Animal Sanctuary. Inside the truck sat Reddy, a young red panda with fur as brilliant as autumn leaves. Her eyes darted about, filled with wide-eyed wonder, as they took in the sights and sounds of her new surroundings. She could see the vibrant colors of trees that she’d never seen before, and she could hear the sounds of many different animals. Reddy was small, and this place seemed so big and unknown.
Finally, the truck came to a halt. Reddy felt a mix of excitement and fear stirring in her belly. As she was let out of her container, she cautiously stepped out onto the soft, leaf-covered ground. Her little heart beat fast as she looked around; this place was quite different from her previous home, which had been much smaller. But then, she looked up and noticed where she was. Reddy smiled – she was in a massive, beautiful bamboo forest that stretched as far as her gaze could reach.
Today’s Meditation: Relax as you imagine you are a baby penguin snuggled close to its papa.
