Summary

For a handful of generations now, there has been a tremendous falling away in the American Church. Now, it's our watch. Will we impact the next generations in a way that blesses them and draws them closer to the Lord? In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the generational impacts of listening to and obeying God, and he shares some tangible things we can do to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Being in God's Word regularly tunes our ears to His voice, and understanding our roles as ambassadors to His Kingdom develops our faith. What we do is more impactful than what we say, so let's stop simply talking about the truth we know and start living it out.

The one fact, I think a primary identifier of the people of God throughout Scripture from Genesis

to Revelation is that they recognize his voice, that they hear his voice. Jesus said, my sheep know my voice and follow me. But that ability to listen to God, not in some strange, weird, bizarre way, but lessons in listening. I hope you're doing the Bible reading with us. This really started for me with our Bible reading for the week. We've just started in the book of Genesis.

If you didn't begin in January, I want to give you an invitation to join us now. We're beginning the Old Testament. The books of Genesis and Exodus are really good reads. A lot of fun. Hollywood's made a fortune off Genesis and Exodus. I mean, there are a lot of drama, a lot of good stories. It's not a difficult read at all. Now, when you get to Leviticus, I'm going to step back in and help you a little bit with Leviticus. I'm not even sure God reads Levitics. That's not true. I'm sure he does. There's a purpose to it, but Genesis and Exodus, there's a lot of narrative that is truly engaging. About 10 or 15 minutes a day, you can read through your entire Bible in the course of a year, it will change your life. I don't know of another single thing, apart from your relationship with Jesus that has the transformational impact that a consistent reading of your Bible will do. So if you fail to do that for whatever reason, no shame today,
