I'm Leonard Malton, and we have a very special guest today,

Ms. Susan Sarandon, who has been entertaining us on screen for a long, long time,

and is on screen right now in a terrific little movie called The Medler,

which I'm very fond of, and I'm happy to plug the

daylights out of it. So welcome, Susan. Thank you. I love that introduction. It has been a long time

for sure. Well, that's what I wanted to start talking to you about that, because, you know,

there are a lot of actors we know and we recognize and there

are movie stars we know and recognize. But I was thinking about your career and I'm thinking

you've been a part of our lives. You've been a part of our lives for a long time.

And you've been a part of my life. Well, thank you. Absolutely. Thank you. I'm just sort of

there as wallpaper, but I'm out there.

No, but I mean, I think that, you know, it's so easy in theater to understand that you've made a connection with people.

For better or worse, it works or it doesn't.

But it's always a little sad that you don't have a sense of people actually enjoying or being moved or dreaming afterwards or having a conversation afterwards about something that you've done.

The celebrity part has gotten confused with the actual job that you do, you know, so people recognize anybody that's been on TV or killed someone or could be anything.

Or on YouTube.

Even on YouTube.

So it kind of diminishes.

You can't really take it seriously that people get all excited when they see you.

You lose the impact of thinking that you're actually giving a gift to people that you hope that they

imagine themselves in a different situation or identify with somebody or dream a little bit about
