I've known a long, long time. People sometimes ask me, are you friendly with filmmakers? Do you get to know

these people? Do you hang out with directors? No. No, I'm a critic. That's a very awkward thing.

How do you hang out with people that you're going to criticize? Not a smart idea, it seems to me.

But this is somebody I know so long. It's before he was a filmmaker or I was a critic. That's how long.

His name is Joe Dante,

and he is known to you, of course,

as the director of,

gosh,

of Gremlins,

of matinee,

of the burbs,

of,

gosh,

small soldiers,

et cetera.

No need to reel them off.

There's a lot of them there.

I mean, and the more intelligent and perceptive of you know that he's one of the creators of rock and roll high school and Roger Corman's Hollywood Boulevard and of course the howling, et cetera.

Talented guy who's been added a long time and knows what's what.

And also the creator of trailers from hell, a website that if you don't know about, you should.
