fulfilling life. Let's go.

Thank you. live a purposeful and fulfilling life. Let's go. All right. Welcome to episode 76. Hello, my friend. Welcome to a fresh new episode of New Mindset, Who Dis, as always. Thank you so much for listening. Thank you for supporting me. And I want to talk about the power of reinvention today. I want to proclaim for us that the purpose of life is to reinvent yourself. It's to reinvent yourself as many times as you need to start over as many times as you need. And certainly not in the sense of like you just literally can't commit to anything. And so you just keep, you know, packing up and leaving

1:16.4

anything that's good because you want better. But in the sense that like zoomed out, the literal

1:22.9

purpose of life is change. I mean, the seasons change. It's inevitable. It's changed. The purpose of life is

1:29.9

always change and change and change and change until you derive enough wisdom from that experience

1:37.0

that you can finally look at yourself, at your partner, at your friends, at your work, at your

1:41.4

inner life, at your outer life, and say, yes, this is it. This is it. And certainly this is easier said than done, because there's this thing, like, maybe you can relate to this. Like, people say this to you when you're thinking about making a big change, or maybe like your parents or like, you know, you look yourself into me and you kind of say this, like, they lean in and, you know, they get all serious. Like, they're going to hit you with some ancient wisdom and they're like, you know, you look yourself in a mirror and you kind of say this like, they lean in and, you know, they get all serious like they're going to hit you with some ancient wisdom and they're like, what about everything you've already built? What about everything you've already done? Right? That kind of question. What about everything you've already built? And that question sits there in your mind when you're thinking about change,

2:18.5

when you're thinking about starting over, what about everything I built? Like it's, you know,

2:23.0

it stops you in your tracks. Like the fact that you have invested time or energy or money or

2:28.8

relationships or reputation into something that, you know, because of the fact that you've invested there,

2:35.7

you're like legally obligated to live forever there as that person in that context.

2:42.6

But that question, a question like that is a trap.

2:46.3

The premise of what about everything you've built? It assumes that like the highest form of

2:52.1

intelligence is commitment, that like the marker of a smart person, the marker of a person who

2:59.3

is living life well is picking one path and just like white knuckling it until you're 65.

3:06.6

And that anything, any reinvention would be failure any

3:09.4

deviation would be failure that starting over means you've got it wrong but you know what if starting

3:14.9

over isn't failure crazy thought what if it is intelligence what if the smartest thing you can do

3:20.4

and ultimately the most rewarding thing you could do is start over. Like your ability to burn it down and rebuild, maybe not once, maybe twice, three times,
