| 0:36.0 | There is so much going on in our lives these days that is actually added to all of us collectively to our usual load of stress and strain. |
| 0:48.0 | So when you're feeling anxious or stressed, these 14 strategies can give you some ideas to help you cope with that surge of stress. |
| 1:00.0 | You know how it feels when we're getting more and more added to our plate, more challenges coming up, things want on top of the other. |
| 1:10.0 | We can really begin to feel it building. So it's important that when we feel this building, this surge rising that we use that as a red flag, pay attention. |
| 1:24.0 | I need to do something so that I don't go into an overwhelmed state and find myself in an anxious state or in a panic attack. |
| 1:36.0 | We can head this off and we become more and more in tune with our own rising stress and we can begin to head it off. |
| 1:47.0 | We can take care of ourselves. Now we should be doing many of these things already, but often we don't. |
| 1:53.0 | There's just so much going on that we lose track of our own self-care or maybe we just need a reminder to do these things. |
| 2:01.0 | So if your stress is building, pay attention and find what out of these 14 things is going to be something you can turn to or what combination of these that will be really helpful for you and write them down or set them to memory somehow so that when you are stressed you don't have to think about it. |
| 2:21.0 | You can just turn to your reminder and say, I'm feeling really overwhelmed and stressed. I need to jump into XYZ and let's see what ones of these will be helpful for you. |
| 2:35.0 | First off, I want you to be able to remember to take a time out doing things like practicing yoga or listening to beautiful music, meditating, getting a massage or learn relaxation techniques. |
| 2:50.0 | You can listen to the anxiety coaches podcast body scan. It's a 10 minute body scan. It's on our website. Do that for your time out. It's only 10 minutes. |
| 3:02.0 | Stepping back from the problem really helps to clear your head and this small time out will really help you. |
| 3:11.0 | The second one is to eat balanced meals. I want you to pay attention to what you're eating. And by balanced meals, that's very individual. We all have different needs and ways of eating. I even wrote down here to do not skip meals. |
| 3:27.0 | But again, that is important for you. How many meals a day do you eat? Everybody has a different regime of eating and I want you to after you find what works for you to stick with it. |
| 3:39.0 | And do keep healthful energy boosting snacks on hand, meaning keep a lot of great fresh fruits and veggies and whole grain options at your fingertips so that you aren't reaching for sugary or over processed snacks that really will interrupt your regular eating routine for the day. |
| 4:03.0 | And not give you what you need, which is you need fuel, not a bunch of sugar or over processed foods. Those don't serve you. So keep the good stuff on hand and it'll make it so much easier. |
| 4:16.0 | The third one I have is I want you to pay attention to your caffeine and your alcohol again. We talk about this often because it is so important and it makes such a big difference. |
