2019 edition of Tesla Daily Unofficial Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Maower. Today we are talking about Tesla discontinuing the 75 kilowatt hour battery pack option for both Model S and Model X. That news did come out after hours but prior to that Tesla on the day

finished up 0.95% to $338.53 as compared to the NASDAQ up 0.87% and

right now when after hours trading Tesla is flat.

So the news that we have about the 75 kilowatt hour packs is from Elon a couple hours after the market

closed, tweeting quote, starting on, Tesla will no longer be taking orders

for the 75 kilowatt hour version of the model S&X.

If you'd like that version, please order by Sunday night." End quote.

So in five days we are going to see some form of changes coming to the S&X.

We don't know exactly what that means.

Elon did follow up with someone else on Twitter that had asked, quote,

are you moving away from battery sizing in a similar sense

to how model three's are sold, i.e. long-range performance,

et cetera, end quote.

Elon replied to that with a simple yes, which I think indicates that they will continue to offer multiple

range options for Model S and for Model X.

Maybe that seems obvious, but with Tesla's focus on streamlined production

and margin improvement through streamlining production, we have at times seen them consolidate

options to be less and less. With that in mind I did consider the possibility

that perhaps Tesla would only offer a 100 kilowatt hour battery and that would be

it for Model S&X. While that would probably impact demand on the lower end for those vehicles,

a lot of that demand would probably shift to model three, in which case that demand
