Welcome back to the peripheral. As some of you may or may not know, I actually don't

really drink or use recreational drugs anymore in my life. There is a variety of reasons,

but the main one is going to be covered in tonight's episode.

Having spent a lifetime watching my brother and sister drink and use drugs literally to

death and feeling helpless in trying to get them to stop.

I speak with Brandon about the death of his younger brother, Elliot.

And during this episode, Brandon asks me a lot of questions about my sister's death

because, well, as you can imagine, we went through a very

similar experience. You're going to hear me share a lot more than you usually do, which

makes the episode a little longer, but I'm sure that's not going to be a problem for any of you.

It's a weird, bittersweet moment when somebody like Brandon and I can meet and

talk and completely relate to each other. It's horribly refreshing. I'll just ask for your

permission now if I could take a snippet of your song and use it at the end of the podcast.
