Roots Planted Excerpt:
One magical early morning on the edge of the Ahway Island forest, the sun smiled down on a small creek. A gentle breeze danced among the leaves of the trees, creating a soft rustling. Happy birds flitted from branch to branch, chirping joyfully, as they played hide-and-seek among the leaves. The sunlight peeked through the branches overhead, spreading golden rays down below, warming the little sapling that had just sprung up underneath the old willow tree nearby.

Anton, who had once been a small acorn, now had a stalk with a few leaves poking up out of the ground. A while ago, he had dropped from his place on the lofty boughs of an old oak tree and rolled to his current spot near the creek. He buried in the ground there, and soon enough, he began to sprout. As the days passed, Anton started growing taller and stronger.
