Summary

On September 29, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cotton Kelly aka James Thiede was gunned down by 18-year-old Troy Kell and 17-year-old Billy Merritt, when asked by 15-year-old Sandy Shaw to rough him up. Kell would go on to murder Lonnie Blackmon in prison, and the security camera footage of the incident went on to form the basis of the film ‘Gladiator Days: Anatomy of a Prison Murder.’
