Welcome everybody to The Incomparable.

I am Chip Sutter, your guest host, and we are convening the comic book club.

It's been a while since the comic book club has gotten together on the mothership,

and we are here to talk about a really groundbreaking book that helped set the stage for what

modern comics, comics of the 1990s and 2000s and beyond, were to become.

And that is Grant Morrison's Animal Man.

Animal Man issues 1 through 26 from the distant, distant past of 1988.

There's a reason that we're going to be talking about Animal Man.

We're going to spend a little bit of time, you know, whetting the appetite for it. If you haven't read it yet, actually giving you a bit of a spoiler-free zone, but not much because this was 1988.

Joining me for this look at Grant Morrison's Animal Man, I have in my presence, the one and

only Lisa Schmeiser.
