Don't wait to be chosen. I think this applies obviously most certainly in dating, but also in friendships, in business, really in any setting that requires another human being.

Don't wait to be chosen. Waiting to be chosen is like you're waiting for someone else to write

the map and then you pretend you're just seeing where things go while they write the map. It's where

you don't ask for what you want. You ask for what they want.

It's where you let their language about love, about friendship, about business become your own

vocabulary. If they say they're not into labels, you tell yourself you're fine without it. If they say

they want to take things slow, you slow down, even if you're ready to run, right? This is waiting,

waiting to be chosen. It's the way you take cues from other people about what you want. It's like

reversal world. And then you negotiate with yourself about what you want based on that. You don't

shape the connection. You simply echo what they give you, you mirror what they give you.

Their intention sets the tempo and then you just move to it.

And obviously when I describe waiting to be chosen and cut and dry terms like that, it's

obvious that we shouldn't do it.

But life isn't simple and we generally do this because we don't want to be rejected.

We don't want to be rejected, right?

We don't want to be the one who tries first or loves first or, you know, does the big, bold,

ambitious thing first because it could be thrown back in our faces and that's hurtful.

And of course, I understand that.
