I'm going to be in Appleton, Wisconsin at the Skyline Comedy Club, January 15th to the 17th. Won't you come see me? Forgive me if I get a little sentimental about today's guest.
0:22.9	Leonard Picard was a prolific LSD manufacturer from the 90s. In fact, according to the DEA,
0:34.3	after his arrest, LSD dropped by 90% in the United States. That's how much LSD this man was making,
0:45.3	meaning that if you were taking psychedelics during that time period, you probably took some LSD that he created.
0:57.9	Now, the reason I'm going to get sentimental is because when I was in high school, LSD
1:04.2	completely changed the trajectory of my life for the better.
1:10.1	I was plunged into this mystical, beautiful universe.
1:16.8	And now I understand a lot of reasons that I responded to it. We're discovering now that
1:24.4	LSD and many psychedelics seem to cause neurogenesis, they could be used as a
1:29.3	treatment potentially for PTSD, depression. The discoverer of LSD, Albert Hoffman even said
1:37.2	that he wished the prohibition hadn't happened because it's smaller doses, potentially LSD could work as something for ADHD,
1:47.4	like a psychedelic kind of adderol. Regardless, it was very important to me when I was in high
1:55.2	school and after high school and has been a great friend throughout different periods of my life.
2:03.4	And so at some point, quite some time ago, I was on Rogan,
2:09.1	and I think I talked about how insane it is that somebody like William Leonard Picard
2:17.0	was serving two life sentences in prison
2:20.2	for creating what I would consider to be a medicine, something that really benefited me.
2:29.4	And compared to a lot of other illicit drugs out there that really didn't seem to be destructive
2:37.0	at all. Now, before I go on, let me just say this. Please be careful. For you young youngs out
2:45.2	there, do your research. This is one of the most powerful chemicals on the planet.
