And today I'm going to be diving into parental approval, even when you're grown up. What happens if you come from a culture

that is very strict in one particular way

you start to change things or do something different or go against

that culture I've always been really fascinated with how I have so many friends

who are Indian and their parents are from India, how they negotiate having one foot in these

zillion years steep traditions that their families are expecting.

I mean, some of my friends, their parents had arranged marriages actually.

And then they had, then these are they're entrepreneurs, they're kick-ass coaches, they're people who have

businesses who are making tons of money.

And I was always fascinated with how do you manage those two things and how can you be both of those things and what happens when you

reach a tipping point of having to choose one or the other which is exactly what happened with my next guest. So this is a woman

who I was very familiar with her work. Her name is Vassa V. Kumar and she was kind of like a kick in your
