And we are officially rebranding as we are now the 700 Club. And I don't know, maybe next episode are we the 701 club? How does that work? Why was it called the 700 Club again? Because that was their body count. No, I'm just kidding, folks. Was that, did Pat Robertson host that? What was the- Did Pat Robertson host it? Of course he fucking hosted it. Excuse me. This is so in our wheelhouse band. This is like part of the deep lore of the Michael and us universe. You know what? I am so fucking offended that you just asked me that. Motherfucker, you didn't know what the half hour news hour was until I raised it earlier

this week. And you have the odd dad. I at least knew the title, the 700 Club, and was able to link it to

Pat Robertson. And you fucking come to me. Fair enough, hoisted by my own petards, worded with my own

logic. But no, the 700 Club, you know, relevant for us, became very

famous in, you know, non-evangelical circles after 9-11 because of the segment where he,

where Pat Robertson was like, this is what happens when you let gays serve in the military.

Right. Blah, blah, blah. This was like the right-wing version of Reverend Jeremiah Wright and his chickens coming home to Rooscommon, except for Pat Robertson, it wasn't like, oh, yeah, this is like blowback from all the, like, imperialism we've done.

It was like, yeah, this is what happens.

Like, God will do tornadoes in the Carolinas if you like gay people serve in the military. God will do

9-11. It was basically the if footmen tire you, what will horses do school of politics,

where it's like if the moral fabric of America starts to weaken, then, uh, yeah, who knows,

a nice country you got there. Maybe it'll break sometime. By the way, apparently the origin of the 700

club name. I looked it up, obviously. There's a film, a documentary film from the 90s called,

I think it's called World's Biggest Gang Bang. And that was the starring Annabelle Chong. And that was

the origin of it, right? She was the original host. I think that was one of the origins, but

you know, every child has many parents.

You know, it takes a village to start a right-wing Christian show.

But now, apparently, the name originated in 1962 from a fundraising telethon hosted by Pat

Robertson to save his financially struggling television station W-Y-A-H-TV.
