Summary
When your whole family are narcissists.
Teresa grew up in a family she describes as narcissistic. Growing up was hard. This family was all about appearances and Teresa was struggling big time. Struggling with what was expected of her. And struggling with being undiagnosed neurodivergent in a neurotypical world. Her parents had started down the path of getting her a diagnosis for autism but pulled out. Teresa believes her family felt the diagnosis wouldn't fit with the image they were trying to portray to the world. Her parents believed Teresa just needed to get involved with 'normal' things and she would be fine. In all those years Teresa was never able to be her true self. It was suffocating and damaging.
