Yes, it's time for another edition of Ten Gentry Least Speaking and I'm your host,

This week we're going to be talking with Tucker Max, fame, bad boy, author, huge bestseller.

Interesting dude, as you'll hear, way, way smarter than the sort of cultural meme would have

it. He's an interesting cat.

I actually spoke to him on the phone years ago, three or four or five, four years ago, something

like that.

Maybe a little before sex, a dawn came out.

Long story.

I was checking into someone who claimed that they had worked with him and he was nice

enough to get back in touch with me and we chatted for a while.

He went to high school with my literary agent, which was interesting.

She remembered him as being a very smart guy, but by that point he was famous for his frat

tire books which sort of set him up for being a hard drinking, lying, fucking puking,

whoo kind of dude, which I guess he may have been on some level.

As you'll hear, there was always a very fierce and acute intelligence watching what was

happening, observing the whole thing.

It's a great story how he went from essentially getting fired and kicked out of a series

of jobs even working for his dad if I remember correctly, to huge mega bestseller author.

On one level it seems accidental and sort of just pure happenstance, but on other levels

you can see that there was, as I say, a very astute intelligence watching the whole thing,

observing and making some pretty savvy decisions along the way.
