Have you ever picked the petals off a flower with that old saying,

He loves me, he loves me not.

He loves me.

In the same way, we can wonder if God still loves us,

especially after having a particularly bad day.

But friend, we don't ever have to wonder about that again. Welcome to the Prayers of Rest podcast. I'm your host Asherita Choochoo and this season we are

resting in the promises of God. Today in particular, we are praying through God's promise

to always love us. So take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving

presence around us and within us this very moment.

Today's passage comes from Romans chapter 8, verses 38 and 39.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

So let's begin by reciting God's goodness, praising Him for who he is and for what he has done in our lives.

A gracious Heavenly Father, you have loved us with an everlasting love. While we were still an embryo, a fetus, a little one in our mother's womb, when no one

else saw us or knew us, even before our own moms knew that we existed, God you knew,

and you saw us. You knit us together and you loved us.

God, thank you. Such a love is too marvelous to comprehend that from our very beginning you who had no beginning loved us with

an everlasting love and so in the next few moments praise God for the love that he has shown to you thank him for the ways that he has drawn you to himself in love and that his love has continued to pursue you praise him specifically for those moments in time where his love has sought you out.

And so we move now to express our neediness, confessing our sins and receiving his forgiveness

and his grace, and then boldly presenting our request to him.

And what a great promise, God, that neither death nor life, angels, demons, present, past, future,

or any powers, anything can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus.

And yet, it's so hard to believe that and to walk in that love and to live
