There was a story that came out of here in Southern California. It was a department store in Los Angeles and the LAPD was involved.

So let me give you the backstory really quickly. There's this young lady, Valentina Oriana Peralta,

who was shopping and was going to this department store and buying clothes.

And she was in the dressing room.

This was in a mall.

And she was in a dressing room.

And the police are called, and it's a suspect who is in the store running, and the police thought he had a weapon.

And there was, at a distance, actually, the cops took a shot at him.

And it was probably a legitimate shooting.

The process at this point is up in the air. But I think if you look at video

from the body camera worn by the police, just before the shooting, they see the suspect,

they scream, hold up, hold up, and then the cop fires three shots in

quick succession. The suspect is hit and later died, but I'll tell you what ended up happening

also. One of the shots went through the wall of the dressing room where Valentina was.

And she was killed.

And her parents are suing.

They're suing the LAPD because they're arguing that the cop was inadequately trained and supervised
