This week, we're studying Joseph of the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat fame.

It's the first part of his story, the very colorful, no pun intended, first part of his life

that is full of trials and injustice and seeming abandonment.

And throughout it all, Joseph remains incredibly faithful and true to his

testimony of the Lord and to his birthright. Now, these are chapters 37 through 41 in Genesis.

And before we talk about Joseph, I'm going to do something a little different today.

As I talk about Joseph before that, I am going to comment a little bit on some of the

big happenings in the world. And I'm actually going to freewheel this a little.

I did make some notes just to try to put together some of my

thoughts that have been kind of percolating for a while. And then with this recent big news

of the combined U.S. and Israeli military strike against Iran that killed the Ayatollah as well as, basically, what was his cabinet, you know, a bunch of the Mullahs that were in charge.

So they got intelligence on when they would be meeting altogether, and they targeted

it and blew it up and destroyed most of the leadership of the country. And this has been an

incredibly oppressive regime for about 47 years. If you look back at pictures of Iranian women

in the 1970s, you see them looking very European, wearing dresses

and heels like European women. No hijab, no total covering covering required, but then when there was the ousting of the Shah and the takeover of the Mullahs,

things completely changed. It became, you know, a Muslim government, and the Islamic rules,

the Sharia law really kicked in in a very harsh way.

So there were even police that went out and would arrest any woman who was uncovered

or anybody that was seen to be non-compliant with Sharia law.
