Hi, this is Lily DeHoyce Anderson, and you're listening to Choosing Glory.

Thank you for joining me as we finish the book of Genesis today,

chapters 42 through 50 and the second part of the amazing life of Joseph of Egypt,

who is a remarkable character.

In fact, I'm going to talk about how impacting his life is in this first book of the Bible,

how much time is actually given to the discussion of this remarkable life and the workings of God with his people. First, I am going to say that we have, of course, the military action

continuing in Iran, and we grieve for the loss of life of innocent people or those in the military who are

trying to do the right thing.

And we know that war is ugly and awful, and we pray for peace.

We also recognize that sometimes the use of power is justified.

There's always collateral damage in war.

So, again, we can sue for peace and we can pray for peace

and yet understand what has happened throughout the history of mankind

when there have been aggressive forces that good people have

wanted to push back against or defend against.

Now, I think it's really fascinating that we get to observe what's happening in the United

States, but also kind of worldwide in terms of the response of many

nations and different groups of people to what is happening. And it covers the spectrum, doesn't it?

Some people who are very, very supportive and other people who couldn't condemn it more harshly.

So it's always interesting to see what happens when it has been such a long time since

the superpower has flexed this kind of muscle.

At any rate, it's a fascinating time.
