This happened a year after I graduated college. It was a time before smartphones existed and

cell phone service was sometimes pretty spotty. My best friend and I went to a popular area

of the city, a bar that her boyfriend at the time had owned. We stayed until closing

since we didn't have to pay for all the drinks and then we went next door to another

friend's apartment for an after party. We had been drinking for a few hours and inevitably

got drunk hungry. The host of the party said that they were ordering pizza, but it never

came. My friend and I decided to walk around the area to look for any sort of late night

food source. It was about 3 a.m. so everywhere that we went was unsurprisingly closed. But

we thought we might get lucky. A little further down the street we spotted a neon open sign.

We excitedly headed towards the restaurant, but noticed that it was empty and dark inside.

The door was unlocked and the man was behind the counter so we asked, are you still serving
