evenly split over whether to release the findings of its investigation into former Florida

Congressman Matt Gates, President-elect Trump's nominee for Attorney General.

Congresswoman Susan Wilde, the top Democrat on the House Ethics Committee,

claims Republican

Chairman Michael Guest of Mississippi, betrayed the process by disclosing deliberations in a closed-door

meeting that lasted over two hours.

I really don't care to comment on the status of the report except to say that we were in a

position to vote today.

Guest told reporters the committee did not reach an agreement on releasing the report,

looking into allegations Matt Gates took part in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use.

Wilde says the committee will meet again in early December.

Trump said yesterday he will not reconsider Gates's

nomination. Strump still has a number of positions to fill, including Treasury Secretary.
