It's so easy to get caught up in whatever everyone else needs from you and never take a moment to think about what you need from yourself.

I know when I'm show running, the last thing I'm thinking about usually is me.

I'm thinking about all the things I need to do and people I need to please.

But when we spend all of our time giving, it can leave us feeling stretched thin and burned out.

And in those times therapy can be so helpful so you get back in touch with yourself and know what you need to do to thrive.

If you're thinking of starting therapy, give Better Help a try.

Often what stops people is the convenience factor and Better Help is entirely online.

It's designed to be convenient, flexible and suited to your schedule.

These aren't specific resolutions like make my bed, but the overarching principles by which I try to live my life.

It took me many months to come up with this list and it has been very useful for me to have them clearly identified in my mind.

It's a creative way of distilling core values.

I wrote this list years ago as part of writing my book The Happiness Project and I've spent a lot of time reflecting on the list in all the years since.

The first commandment remains the most important commandment.

It's the commandment to be Gretchen.

I want to accept myself and expect more for myself.

I want to be true to my own interests, values and nature.
