More tear than cheer, more yuck than you old, the side of a happy child is a reminder of an empty crib.

The busy social calendar of some reminds you of the empty social calendar in your life. I want to give you a word of

encouragement. I'm at the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC and they've

allowed me to take a peek at some of these beautiful

nativity scenes that came all the way from Malta. Isn't that amazing? Just a

picture a reminder of how timeless and precious the story of Christmas is to people all over the world.

You know if you're looking more forward to December 26th than December 25th. Keep in mind the story of that young girl.

As much as she tries to keep a good attitude, it's not easy. She's far away from home, miles from the family, a long way from her own bed.

And she's spent the last few days on crowded roads.

And she's been enduring the winter chill. Money is scarce. Friends are nowhere to be seen. A warm bed, oh that'd be nice. A hot meal, even better, but the prospects, they're pretty

slim. So ask her which is worse, the pain in her heart or the pain in her back and I suppose she'd be hard-pressed to make a choice.

You see her heart aches for her family.
