| 0:00.0 | Welcome to another episode of the Secular Buddhism Podcast. This is episode |
| 0:05.6 | number 68. I am your host Noah Rosheta and today I'm talking about questions about |
| 0:12.0 | Buddhism. |
| 0:20.7 | When I started this podcast a few years ago I started to receive several emails |
| 0:27.8 | with questions that people had to expand on a specific topic or to clarify a certain |
| 0:34.2 | teaching and I've been answering these questions for quite some time usually by email. |
| 0:41.1 | Then with the podcast being out I was eventually approached by a publisher and I was offered the |
| 0:48.1 | opportunity to write a book about Buddhism that just recently came out. It's available for preorder |
| 0:55.3 | now on Amazon and the book is called No Nonsense Buddhism for Beginners. Clear answers to |
| 1:02.4 | burning questions about core Buddhist teachings. I'm really excited to have this book out because |
| 1:09.4 | it's formatted in a question and answer format and broken into four specific parts. Part one is |
| 1:17.7 | questions about the Buddha. Part two is questions around core concepts. Part three has questions and |
| 1:24.4 | answers around core teachings and part four has questions around core Buddhist practices. |
| 1:31.5 | And this book is intended for anyone who's new to Buddhism but also to help practitioners who |
| 1:38.2 | have who are looking for a resource to be able to answer questions from friends or loved ones. |
| 1:44.9 | You may have noticed as you start to apply these concepts in your life it's common for people to |
| 1:52.2 | say oh you know you're you're interested in Buddhism. Well what does Buddhism say about this or |
| 1:57.2 | about that? If you're like me you've probably noticed that that is a common thing from friends and |
| 2:02.9 | family. So this book serves as a good platform to be able to address some of these questions to |
| 2:10.4 | answer them in a way that people who are not familiar with Buddhism or any concepts around Buddhism |
| 2:18.0 | would be able to understand the answers to some of those questions. So I thought it would be |
| 2:24.8 | cool to do a podcast episode to just quickly share with you some of the questions and answers |
... |
