In this episode of The Bare Performance Podcast, Nick goes over what he is currently reading, studying and working on at the moment. We are all, and should be, students of learning new things and this is a clear example of broadening your range of education.
Nick talks about red light/infrared light therapy, cooling his bed to 59 degrees at night, wearing a whoop band to track recovery, changes to his diet, his interest in soil regeneration and optimizing web sites for e-commerce brands.

0:00.0 | Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Bear Performance Podcast. I am your host, |
0:15.6 | Nick Bear, founder and CEO of Bear Performance Nutrition. And today I want to do something |
0:23.3 | a little bit different. There have been a lot of things I have been reading, studying |
0:28.1 | and working on recently, more so than ever before. And I want to start sharing some of |
0:35.6 | those things with you. So this is all about what I'm reading, studying and working on |
0:42.0 | at the moment. And there is a lot. There's a lot that I've been diving into recently, |
0:47.7 | especially with some of my free time after transitioning out of Ironman Prep and the |
0:54.6 | Challenge Cancun Race, where I was training three hours a day from strength training, |
1:01.7 | running, swimming, cycling. And with some of that free time now and more energy and feeling |
1:09.5 | very normal again. I've had the burning desire to learn more and more and more, which has |
1:17.5 | been a constant in my life for the last 10 plus years. But more so recently, I've found |
1:23.3 | some passions and some passion projects that I want to share with you guys. Before we |
1:28.4 | dive into it, I do want to bring up. I was recording an episode with Adam Klingk in the |
1:34.3 | podcast studio that we're building out right now last week. And during that episode, we |
1:40.3 | decided to light some incense before getting started. It was me, Adam and Yoli. Yoli was |
1:46.9 | running the camera gear and the audio equipment. And why it came in and he let some incense |
1:54.5 | in the room before getting started. And we didn't even think about it. We closed the door. |
1:58.8 | And before you know it, I could feel my eyes lighting on fire 15 minutes into the episode. |
2:06.1 | And the incense was just filling the room. And if you could just picture this, it's I'm |
2:11.1 | trying to hold this conversation with Adam. And during this conversation, I could see |
2:18.8 | us both to start blinking a lot in the room, just like filling with the smoke of the incense |
2:24.7 | that we lit. With that being said, we will never do that again. That was a mistake that |
