Summary

Kaya Stewart has been writing and recording songs since she was 13 years old. Sure Dave Stewart of Eurythmics is her Dad but that doesn't guarantee talent or success and she knows that.

After a song she wrote and recorded blew up on Soundcloud, records labels started knocking on her door.

Soon she found herself on Warner Brothers Records and out on the Vans Warped Tour but it wasn't all dreamy.

Kaya decided to start over and do things her way. During the Pandemic she was diagnosed with OCD which was the catalyst to write the collection of songs that make up her new album IF THINGS GO SOUTH which was co-written and co-produced by Dave Stewart.

The record comes out Sept 30th and will be available on all streaming platforms.

Kaya has an incredible voice and is a great songwriter and I really dig some of the songs on her new album.

0:56.8	Urid Mix and I got an email recently that said, would you like to have his
1:01.7	daughter on, Kaya Stewart? And I was like, well, let me hear the music, you know,
1:07.2	just because her dad is famous. Doesn't mean I'm just going to pop her
1:11.3	onto the show. Everybody that's been listening to the show for 11 years
1:14.8	knows that I have to dig the music. And they sent me over the record. And I was
1:20.8	pretty blown away actually. I was immediately drawn into this song called If
1:27.2	Things Goes South, which is the title of her new record coming out. And I was just
1:31.7	floored how great it was. And dug into the record and just started falling in
1:37.4	love with some of these songs on here, like Independence and jealous and honey.
1:45.6	Some great songs on here. It was like, wow, who wrote these songs that her dad
1:50.6	write. I'm not turns out that during the pandemic, she was having some
1:57.0	difficulties was diagnosed with a serious case of OCD. Did know what to do. Headed
2:04.8	out to Nashville to meet up with her dad said, I want to write a couple songs
2:08.2	and boom, they sat down and did a full record. And it's about to come out. And it's
