| 0:00.0 | Welcome to another episode of the secular Buddhism podcast. This is episode number 66. I am your host Noah Rasheda |
| 0:08.4 | and today I'm talking about the joy and pain of sharing experiences. |
| 0:13.8 | As most of you know I just recently returned from a two-week trip to Uganda, Africa. I've |
| 0:30.8 | announced that trip before here on the podcast and on the website and on the Facebook page. |
| 0:36.7 | And it was an incredible trip. It was even better than last year in the sense that there were new |
| 0:44.9 | experiences and connections that were made that were really meaningful. I was I had the opportunity |
| 0:52.1 | to start the trip out by doing a gorilla trek with Susie who is also the coordinator of these |
| 1:00.5 | trips and a few other people and it was a really neat experience. Spending time sitting on the side of a |
| 1:09.2 | mountain surrounded by gorillas, the family that we were trekking had 19 members in it and just |
| 1:16.2 | sitting there quietly peacefully on the mountainside, watching them, taking pictures, seeing them do what |
| 1:23.8 | they do. That was a really neat experience and I think that kind of set the tone for the rest of the |
| 1:29.1 | trip. I'm glad to be back. I feel like the week leading up to the Africa trip, there was a lot of |
| 1:36.2 | preparation work and packing and things that needed to be done and that made it difficult for me to |
| 1:42.4 | record any podcast episodes and then of course the two weeks that I was gone, I was pretty much out of |
| 1:48.9 | commission with no internet or very little technology in general. And then I came home and it |
| 1:57.3 | took about a week to adapt. So last week was the first full week home and it took several days to |
| 2:05.1 | adjust to the time zone. But I finally feel like I'm back. It's the schedule feels normal with the |
| 2:15.6 | exception of daylight saving times throwing a little wrench in there. But things feel pretty much |
| 2:20.5 | back to normal and I'm excited to get back on track with recording podcast episodes. Now another |
| 2:26.5 | thing that I've had going on that's been taking up a lot of my time is wrapping up the book that I'm |
| 2:32.3 | writing. I'll mention more about that in another podcast episode. But with all of that needless to say, |
| 2:40.0 | I am several weeks behind on my supposed weekly podcast episodes. So I'm glad to be back. I hope |
