Hi everyone, Sarah here and welcome to the squiggly career podcast. And this week's episode,

0:07.2

number 66, is something a little bit different. So regular listeners will know that as well as the

0:12.4

podcast, Helen and I have a business called Amazing If. An Amazing If came from a very informal chat

0:18.5

and coffee one day where we were talking about our careers,

0:21.7

how they become really squiggly, and also how lots of people were not enjoying what they were

0:25.9

doing. And our kind of phrase that really fuelled, I guess, our business was,

0:30.4

wouldn't it be amazing if we could make work better for everyone? And so that's a mission

0:34.9

that we're really passionate about. And we know we're not the only ones.

0:54.6

everyone. Our first guest is someone I'm so excited about. You will hear us recommend Bruce

0:59.6

1:04.7

of podcasts, but because it's genuinely that good. If you want to listen to amazing guests, world

1:09.7

leading experts in their field, it's

1:11.8

absolutely the place to go. And almost I'm disappointed if I have to listen to it while I'm

1:16.0

walking because I want to be making notes. So I'm so delighted to have Bruce with us. So hey, Bruce.

1:20.8

Hello there. That's very nice. Oh. And also it's lovely to be in the same room. So lots of you

1:25.5

will know, Helen and I often record these remotely.

1:31.3

But Bruce and I are sitting in a very lush, lovely, posh, yeah, doing it properly, which feels only appropriate given today we're here to talk about Bruce's new book,

1:38.5

which is The Joy of Work, out yesterday.

1:41.4

And what we're going to do is talk a bit about what he's found out through the book
