We have Mesa Gifford on the Kurdish Fight for Freedom, Dame and Leslie on Feminism and Me Too, and the Labour Party MP Kate Hoi on all things Brexit. ISIS are being pushed back in Syria and there is talk that they may soon be defeated.

This is largely down to the efforts of Kurdish fighters who have bravely and often without much support beaten back the ISIS barbarians.

It's rare that you hear Western governments or even lefties praising the efforts of the Kurds.

And while the prospect of Kurdish independent becomes less possible with the US and UK

refusing to back the Kurds, you have to ask what is going on.

And what is it like to To be out there, fighting for freedom.

Well for this final podcast of the year I managed to get hold of Mesa Gifford, the famous

British ex-trader who decided to leave home and go out to fight with the Kurds.

He's been fighting and aiding forces out in Syria for three years now.

So Mesa now at the end of 2017, tell us what it has been like for the Kurds,

what of the struggles been and what are more crucially the gains been for the Kurds this year?

Well the Kurdish struggle is defined in a number of different ways because there's an ongoing

struggle in South Kurdistan in northern Iraq at the moment with the problems with the

Barzoni leadership and its failings.

We've also got an enormous amount of pain and suffering in North Kurdistan in Turkey and

in Russia, Iranian Kurdistan.

And each one of these have their own problems, their own setbacks, their own solutions and all the rest of it.
